Stig is a caveman who lives at the bottom of an old quarry close to Barney's grandmother's house. Barney finds Stig one day when he falls through the roof of Stig's den. They become friends, even though they cannot talk to each other.

Since the quarry is no longer in use, people throw all their rubbish away down there; Stig is good at finding new ways in which to use old things.

On the same day that they cut down an enormous tree (getting warm once in the process) and then use it to start a fire (getting warm for the second time) Stig picks up a piece of charred wood and uses it to draw an amazing hunting scene on the chalk wall of the den.

Then we had a go at using charcoal and chalks to make our own hunting scene. We dusted the paper with charcoal powder and smudged it to give it a greyish background. Then we used charcoal and chalk to make our scene.

"I like your cave painting of an animal because I like its horns," said Dangi.jdhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12775085299874824485noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2398962751421196113.post-9807205653656067552008-04-12T06:43:00.001-07:002008-04-16T06:01:24.496-07:00Mapping the schoolWe asked ourselves; how can we show what our school looks like? After taking a walk around the school, we had a go at trying to make a record of everything; from the classrooms to the kitchen, the music room to the French rooms and the library.

Take a look at mine. "I drew it small because I didn't want to take up much space. I forgot some of the classes like 2o. I found it OK - not too easy; not too hard. The first bit I did was 2i and the corridor. I did the staffroom and downstairs to the gym. I think someone else could use my map."

How does it compare with the real thing?

jdhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12775085299874824485noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2398962751421196113.post-57960027807144066762008-02-28T12:33:00.001-08:002008-02-29T04:14:23.571-08:00MemoryInvented by Max, Chris and Rekik

· First spread out the cards, face side up
· Then put a blindfold on

· Keep going until you find two that you think are the same

· Take the blindfold off
· You keep them if they are the same
· Then it’s the other guy’s turn
· The winner is the one who has the most cardsjdhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12775085299874824485noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2398962751421196113.post-88013360556963818002008-01-26T10:55:00.001-08:002008-01-26T12:58:52.368-08:00plasticWell I put a booster there and then I put plastic knives on the rocket.
